Sheffield GEMS Scholarship 2027

Get Up to £17,500 with GEMS Scholarship 2027 at University of Sheffield

Students from selected GEMS schools in the UAE, Qatar and Egypt can apply for a tuition fee award at the University of Sheffield for autumn 2027 entry. The University of Sheffield GEMS Scholarship 2027 offers a total reduction of up to £17,500, spread across the years of an eligible undergraduate degree. It starts with a £10,000 discount in the first year, followed by £2,500 in each later year, provided you meet the university’s academic progression requirements.

The scholarship is intended for self-funded international students who have received an offer for an eligible undergraduate course. You must also meet the university’s firm-choice condition to secure the award.

How Much Can You Save on Tuition?

Sheffield GEMS Scholarship 2027 reduces the tuition fee you have to pay; it is not a cash allowance paid directly to students. The university deducts £10,000 from your first-year tuition fee. If you continue to meet the required academic standards, you can receive another £2,500 reduction for every subsequent year of your degree.

The overall value depends on the length of your programme and can reach £17,500. This makes the award particularly useful for students planning a multi-year undergraduate degree in the UK. However, the later-year discounts are conditional, so you should check the university’s progression requirements before relying on the full award amount.

Are You Eligible for Sheffield GEMS Scholarship 2027?

University of Sheffield GEMS Scholarship 2027 is open to overseas fee-paying students from GEMS institutions in the United Arab Emirates, Qatar or Egypt. You must have an offer for an eligible undergraduate programme at the University of Sheffield beginning in autumn 2027. You also need to be self-funded, enter your course in Year 1 and take responsibility for paying the overseas tuition fee. Sponsored students are not eligible.

Most undergraduate courses qualify, but there are some exclusions. This scholarship doesn’t cover Medicine programmes A100 and A101, Dentistry programme A200, and MArch programmes. The university treats MArch courses as postgraduate taught programmes for scholarship purposes.

There is one important condition to remember: the University of Sheffield must be your firm choice by 4pm UK time on 2 June 2027.
